“So often I think of dance in its competitiveness,
but how quickly do I forget its community! Working with dancers of such a
variety of ages, dance, and cultural backgrounds helped to remind me of
the beauty of dance and its ability to bring people together. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel to Panama and catch a glimpse of what is possible when we connect with others through art.”
– Katie, university student and dancer
“I learned how many differences we can overcome when we see and desire the same outcome. This experience has inspired me to find local opportunities to do similar work and/ or try to create them!” – Carina, dancer and choreographer
"It was an eye-opening, life-changing, unforgettable experience for both myself and my students!! I know my life, perspective, and values have changed immensely since this experience, I know that it has completely changed my students as well, I have seen it in the way they interact with each other, comments they've made, things they do...I have found my place in the world and my purpose for existing. I'm in a place I've never been in before and it is wonderful...I owe it to Panama!

“Thank you so much for the past week. I cannot tell you what it has meant for me. I have pretty much decided I would rather continue to participate in this program than do a study abroad. I feel extremely invested in the kids already and cannot imagine not doing everything I can to keep up with this. In that case, please let me know what I can do to help here. I look forward to returning to the kids as soon as possible.” — Audrey, university student and dancer
"I came to realize how universal some things are in this world and , of course, dance is one of those things. This trip has done so much for me. It cleared my mind. It helped me become wiser. It made me more mature. It brought the explorer out of me. It gave me a new start. It gave me a break. It helped me love. It helped me laugh. It helped me smile. It tested me, yet it also relaxed me. It helped me get away, yet it also made me realize things about myself that I never knew."
— Ken, university student and dancer
"I deeply believe in the project and truly hope that we can all continue to contribute to sharing/helping all who need/want to experience and benefit from art where ever in the world that way be." — Katie, dancer and choreographer
I can't quite put my finger on what exactly it is, but a change has occurred...I view things differently, I view people differently, and I view America differently since I've been back from Panama. I appreciate more and I feel like I got to experience a whole new world. I'm definitely inspired to travel more, share more and experience more. I'm open to a lot of new things that I wasn't before."
